RCOG is looking for a proactive, efficient Janitorial Lead who possesses an understanding of proper cleaning methods and a respect for the local church. The Janitorial Lead will ensure that all publicly accessible areas of the church are clean and ready for other staff members and the congregation to use. You will make vacuum, sweep, tidy floors, sanitize surfaces, and restock items, such as toilet paper, paper towels, and other supplies. You may also maintain supply inventory, submit purchase requests to the secretary, and assist with special cleanings and preparations for events such as special nights of worship, baptisms and more.

Job entails approximately (2) mornings/afternoons of work per week. Compensation is $300/wk.

general responsiblities

  • Maintaining clean church facilities by performing weekly duties in all public areas of the Worship Center and Family Life Center, including bathrooms, sanctuary, kitchens, and meeting rooms.

  • Performing maintenance, such as restocking bathrooms and trash receptacles.

  • Occasionally assisting with special event preparations such as Nights of Worship and Baptisms.

  • Taking inventory of cleaners and other supplies and submitting requests to secretary when items need to be replenished.

  • Interacting with church staff and visitors in a respectful, positive manner.

job must-have

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Custodial experience or training is a plus.

  • Understanding of cleaning techniques and safety procedures.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and have the ability to pass a background check.

  • Strong communication, comprehension, and interpersonal skills.

  • Flexibility to adjust their schedule to suit the needs of the church.

List of Weekly Cleaning RESPONSIBILITIES

FAMILY LIFE CENTER

  • Vacuum foyer, classrooms, steps, walkway

  • Dispose of all trash

  • Clean restrooms (upstairs/downstairs)

  • Clean glass doors

  • Clean tables in dining room

  • Mop dining room weekly

  • Dust mop gym floor weekly

  • Mop gym floor (every other week)

  • Sweep and mop kitchen weekly

  • Mop Youth Movement worship center

  • Sweep front walkway/Vacuum mat


WORSHIP CENTER

  • Vacuum worship center/stage

  • Dispose of all trash

  • Clean restrooms (Foyer/Handicapped/Nursery/KidCity)

  • Vacuum classrooms/nursery

  • Vacuum KidCity/KidCity foyer

  • Clean all glass doors

  • Mop worship center foyer

  • Clean coffee bar/tables in coffee shop

  • Sweep entrance areas/vacuum mats
